Snap Judgment: Denver Broncos offensive and defensive snap counts in week 1

Some interesting data from the offensive and defensive snap counts from the Denver Broncos 21-20 victory over the Carolina Panthers in Week 1.

This is going to be simple and straightforward, but it will give us an idea of who played and how much they played week to week. I’ll give the values for each game and then I will track trends after each four-game block.

It is nice to note that all five of our starting offensive lineman played the entire game. it should also be noted that CJ Anderson WAS the feature back getting 83% of the RB snaps. Devontae Booker and Kapri Bibbs combined for 1/6th of the snaps that CJ got.

We had 73 non-ST defensive snaps. Chris Harris Jr. was on the field for 95% of them. Jared Crick took 75% of the defensive snaps. Rookie Justin Simmons (29 snaps) played a significant amount while Adam Gotsis (5 defensive snaps) and Will Parks (0 defensive snaps) did not. Parks played 12 special teams snaps. Dekoda Watson did not get a single defensive snap, but he was on the field for 88% of the special teams snaps.

Our seven inactive players for this game were: Austin Davis, Bennie Fowler, Lorenzo Doss, Connor McGovern, Ty Sambrailo, Jeff Heuerman and Kyle Peko.
