Are the Broncos leaning toward Vance Joseph?

In Denver the only football story worth talking about is the Broncos search for a new head coach. The Afternoon Drive had some interesting ideas about what is going on at Dove Valley.

Eric Goodman and Les Shapiro of The Afternoon Drive tackled the head coaching scenarios. In their eyes, Vance Joseph is the lead candidate, and he has yet to interview. It appears that the Denver Broncos head coaching job belongs to either Joseph or Kyle Shanahan.

However, The Afternoon Drive brought up an interesting thought. It appears current Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Wade Phillips is being pushed out.

If Joseph is the next head coach, Phillips will be out of a job. That may even be the case if Shanahan gets the job. Why? Phillips has been the best defensive coordinator in the NFL for the last two seasons.

It simply looks like the front office is done with Phillips.

John Elway has a lot of decisions to make, but the defensive side of the ball was never the issue in 2016. It seems strange to see the Broncos getting ready to move on from the coach who led the defense to being mentioned alongside some of the greatest in history.
