Bradley Roby says don’t worry about the Broncos defense

Bradley Roby caught up with the Afternoon Drive yesterday and talked coaching changes

Bradley Roby was a guest on The Afternoon Drive with Eric Goodman and Les Shapiro yesterday and talked about the current coaching situation. He said he has heard the rumors that current defensive backs coach, Joe Woods could take over as defensive coordinator and Wade Phillips could be out.

Roby said no matter who the coach is, he has to go out and do his job, and that the entire defense will be fine no matter who the coordinator is, so we shouldn’t worry about the defense.

He said the guys have confidence in any of the defensive staff and referenced the time during the San Diego game where Phillips was carted off after the Chargers player knocked him down on the sideline. Linebacker coach, Reggie Herring, stepped in and called the plays and Roby said the defense rallied around him and it worked out, so they would feel good about Woods potentially stepping in as the defensive coordinator.

He also talked about new Denver Broncos Head Coach, Vance Joseph. Roby met Vance during the draft process while Joseph was coaching defensive backs for Cincinnati, and said he liked and respected him from their time together. He also plans to be at the introductory press conference tomorrow to formally congratulate his new head coach.

The whole interview is a great listen. Check it out starting at the 1:33 mark.
