With the Atlanta Falcons beating the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday and the Green Bay Packers defeating the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, next week's NFC Championship is a matchup of opponents that the Denver Broncos know all too well.
The Denver Broncos won their first Lombardi Trophy against the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl XXXII. The Packers hope to return to the championship game for the first time since their Super Bowl XLV victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2011.
The Denver Broncos followed up their first championship with an encore performance the following year in Super Bowl XXXIII against the Atlanta Falcons. Sadly, this was the last game of John Elway's storied career as a player. Two AFC Championships and a Super Bowl victory since, no Broncos fan could have predicted Elway's future in Denver.
On Sunday, January 22nd, the Packers will take on the Falcons in a contest to determine which team will advance to the Super Bowl. Unfortunately, the Denver Broncos aren't in the mix for a Championship this year, but regardless of which NFC team goes to the Super Bowl, Broncos fans are guaranteed plenty or reminders of triumphs-past in the form of numerous video retrospectives.
