Terrell Davis has a resume unmatched by most running backs in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Over the course of the last 22 days, we’ve shown how special of a player he is, and why he needs to get his bust in Canton, Ohio next Saturday. That’s when the 48-person selection committee meets and votes on the 2017 inductees.
The No. 6 reason in our countdown of the 30 reasons TD is a hall of famer: he has two significant accomplishments other Hall-of-Fame running backs do not. Davis owns the No. 5 (2,008 yards) and No. 26 (1,750) regular seasons in NFL history.
Who is not on that list?
- Earl Campbell
- Jim Brown
- Walter Payton
- Emmitt Smith
- Marcus Allen
- Curtis Martin
- Jerome Bettis
- Tony Dorsett
- Thurman Thomas
All of those running backs have busts in Canton.
When the voters meet in less than a week, it’s time Davis gets his.
