Vance Joseph: “We want more effort, more focus, more detail and more commitment”

This is the Denver Broncos motto heading into the second quarter of the regular season.

Coming of their bye week, Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph spoke about his message to the team heading into the second quarter of the regular season. It came down to doing the little things well for Joseph and in that, most fans would agree.

“The message to our team is to do more,” Joseph said. “We want more effort, more focus, more detail and more commitment. That’s our message. As we move through the season, hopefully with success—as we have success, we want to do more to keep our edge so to speak. That’s our message after the bye. Let’s do more than what we did the first quarter.”

Joseph went so far as to call his t-shirt the teams motto. I kind of love it, but at the same time am wondering who would think to ask Joseph what the team’s motto is in Week 5 of the regular season.

“It’s on my t-shirt,” Joseph said when asked what the team motto is. “‘More’ on the front. On the back is: ‘effort, details, focus and commitment’. That’s our second quarter motto there.”

Dubious questions aside, the Broncos clearly want the message to the public and in the locker room to be about the details. If it works, I’m all for it!
