The AFC West is still the best division in the NFL, but it is now a lot more top heavy than we all expected.
The Best in the West
As the only undefeated team left in the NFL, the Kansas City Chiefs are clearly the best in the west right now. However, the Denver Broncos are nipping no their heels after five weeks. It’s a two horse race.
Frankly, the Chiefs have a history of regular season prowess and then find ways to falter come January. The Broncos could be the spoiler that ruins their hopes and dreams, which would be glorious.

The Worst in the West
A few weeks ago, this would have easily been the Los Angeles Chargers. However, their losses have been tough and close affairs, while the Derek Carr-less Oakland Raiders are just not very good. They get my vote as the worst team in the west right now.
If Carr is out or not very good after rushing back to the lineup, the Raiders could easily drop 3-4 games in the next six weeks and that would put them out of playoff contention rather quickly.
