Adam Gotsis plays big role in Broncos Ground Control defense

The Afternoon Drive caught up with Denver’s defensive lineman to talk the defense’s start and the Giants.

Adam Gotsis was an unknown.

There’s no doubt the Denver Broncos were hopeful the second-year defensive lineman from Georgia Tech would take the next step or three this season, but they just didn’t know. The same was true for the Broncos run defense and how effective it would be; especially when Jared Crick went down with an injury. One could say the two were connected. If one succeeds, so will the other.

Through the first four games, the results speak loud and clear. Not only has Gotsis taken the steps the Broncos hoped he would, they have the best rush defense in the NFL. In large part because of the play of Gotsis, Denver has the Ground Control to go with the No Fly Zone.

On Friday’s The Afternoon, the guys talked with Gotsis about his and the defense’s incredible start, plus Sunday night’s game against the New York Giants. As we inch closer to kickoff and the state of the Giants, complete domination is in play for the Broncos defense. Oh, and Eric Goodman and Les Shapiro got the big defensive lineman to say a phrase in his Australian accent.
