Vance Joseph: Trevor Siemian to remain the starter

Vance Joseph isn’t ready to make a change at quarterback for the Denver Broncos.

After the Denver Broncos first shutout defeat in 25 years, Vance Joseph was asked by Dave Logan on Orange & Blue 760 if Trevor Siemian would remain the starter heading into a critical Monday Night Football game against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 8.

The biggest issue he must figure out how to fix is helping Siemian play better when pressured. He has the worst quarterback rating when under pressure in the entire NFL, yet he is ranked in the middle of the road when it comes to actual number of times he is pressured.

If the offensive line was as bad as people think, he would rank at the bottom in both categories. Right now, Siemian is playing like he is under pressure on every single snap and it’s showing.

Joseph had better fix things quick, because Broncos Country is just about out of patience. When you have 4/5ths of engaged fans fed up with the quarterback play, you have a serious public relations problem on your hands.

But this is Trevor Siemian’s team and the Broncos intend to ride or die with Siemian under center. After losing to two sub-.500 teams in a row, the Broncos now face a gauntlet of Super Bowl contenders in the Chiefs, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the New England Patriots.

I wonder how committed to the quarterback Joseph will be if this team is 3-6 next month.
