Von Miller: ‘I want to go out there and prove last week was a fluke’

The Denver Broncos are desperate for a win against the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots. Their four game skid culminated with a blowout loss on the road to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Von Miller isn’t happy about it and wants nothing more than to prove that blowing out the Broncos defense was a fluke occurrence.

“I was about to say, individually, I’m going to be the guy the Broncos brought me in to be no matter what,” Miller said when asked if the defense has lost its swagger. “As professionals, as men, when you go out there and you get beat like that it definitely hurts. We got punched in the stomach. We have high character guys in the locker room who have fought through adversity before. I wouldn’t want to go into a game with—I wouldn’t replace any of these guys going into the next game. I was Talib on the outside and Chris on this side. I want ‘D.T’ , Brock and Emmanuel on the other side. I want to go out there and prove that last week was just a fluke. We have the same exact team this week and we have an opportunity to go out here and get a win. That will be wonderful for us, that’ll be great.”

The three game road streak was about as brutal as it could be. There was the first shutout in 25 years to the Los Angeles Chargers, then a tough loss on the road to the struggling Kansas City Chiefs, and, of course, the blowout fifty-burger to the Eagles.

It’s been a long three weeks and finally the Broncos return home searching for answers. Tom Brady and the Patriots have a history of struggles in Denver and what better way to turn the season around than a win at home against a team like New England?

“You want to play at home and you definitely want to play at home,” Miller said of the Patriots. “We have some of the best fans in the National Football League and we want to play in front of those guys. We want it to be loud. We want those guys to be loud and we want it rocking in there. It really does create an advantage for us. We want to play at home.”

Oh it will be loud. Broncos Country hates Brady and the Patriots. The players only need to keep the game close...
