The 2017 season for the Denver Broncos will hang in the balance over the course of this critical Sunday Night Football matchup with the New England Patriots.
The biggest need for the Broncos in this game isn’t so much containing Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski as much as it is for the offense to get off to a fast start against a rather poor Patriots defense.
Gronk will likely get his, but if the Broncos defense can limit the damage and come up big in the red zone - something they did well against the Patriots last season - then it could be a low scoring affair. That is the kind of game that would play into the Broncos hands if their offense finally figures out how to play football again.
