Denver Broncos and Miami Dolphins injury report: Wolfe, Leary, and Peko miss second straight practice

The Denver Broncos and Miami Dolphins released their second injury report of the week today, and there’s some not so good news for three Broncos starters. Guard Ronald Leary, defensive end Derek Wolfe, and nose tackle Domata Peko sat out their second straight practice today.

To make things worse for the Broncos, defensive end Derek Wolfe confirmed to reporters that he is indeed experiencing numbness due to his neck injuries.

“There’s not like one real answer to give right now because we need to run some more tests to really figure out what’s causing the numbness,” Wolfe said. “A stinger is a stinger, but when your face is going numb and then your quad is going numb, that’s when you have to make sure. Whenever the MRIs and everything, that’s all clear, that’s when you have to go check the nerves and find out what’s going on with the nerves and then you can reverse it.”

So it appears unlikely that we will see Wolfe anytime soon when the Broncos are playing meaningless regular season games.

Another not so good sign is guard Ron Leary missing his second straight practice. With Suh on the interior of the Dolphins defense, you better have your best inside. Head Coach Vance Joseph didn’t seem that optimistic about Leary’s status for Sunday’s game.

“My level of concern? He was ‘DNP’ two days now, so it’s an injury that could hold him out of the game. That’s my concern.”

As for Peko, he’s viewed as a long shot already but they do not come tougher than him so I wouldn’t count him out just yet. He does have a games played streak on the line, so again, we shall see.

All three would likely have to participate at some level on Friday to have a chance to play Sunday. At best, all three will likely be game-time decisions.
