After opening 7-point underdogs to the New England Patriots, the line immediately shifted and now stands at 7.5 to 8.5 points. Simply put, the Denver Broncos are no longer a competitive football team by Vegas standards. Given the game is in Mile High, the spread is more like 10-11 points.
In each of the last three weeks the Broncos have been touchdown or worse underdogs, enticing sharp money to bet on the cover. Instead, the Broncos have been blown out in four-straight games. They’ve lost by 13, 21, 10, and 28 points.
Who would bet on those odds?
Expect nearly all of the action to be on the Patriots. Until the Broncos can prove they can score on offense again with any reasonable consistency, only a fool would bet on them covering any spread this week.
