Broncos-Colts injury update: Justin Simmons is day to day with high ankle sprain

The Denver Broncos could be without Justin Simmons against the Indianapolis Colts.

The Denver Broncos (4-9) are coming off a big win over the New York Jets on Sunday, but have a short week to prepare for a road trip to face the Indianapolis Colts (3-10) on Thursday Night Football.

They will likely be without starting safety Justin Simmons who suffered a high ankle sprain on Sunday. Those tend to take a while to heal, so it might be smart to sit him for this one and have him back for the final two. Will Parks filled in nicely in the Broncos shutout victory over the Jets.

“A couple of guys that left the game yesterday— Justin Simmons has a mild-high ankle sprain,” Head coach Vance Joseph said on Monday. “He’s day-to-day, we’re treating him and seeing what’s going to happen on Thursday there. Jamal Carter has a shoulder bruise and he’s getting better by the moment, so he should be OK there. Other than that, we’re good from the football game last night.”

Jamal Carter saw a lot of action too on Sunday and it sounds like he’ll be good to go on Thursday.
