The Broncos are coming off an impressive shutout victory on Sunday to end their lengthy losing streak. However, they will travel to Indianapolis on a short week to face the Colts on Thursday Night Football. The Broncos will be looking to end another not so great streak. They haven’t won a road game since Paxton Lynch and the Broncos defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars on December 4th in 2016. That is over a calendar year ago.
One player pulled me aside and asked when was last time #Broncos didn't win a road game. I told him 1964. The player's eyes widened in disbelief. Again, been that kind of season. #Denver7

They’re currently 0-6 in 2017 on the road and 0-8 on the road dating back to their last road win last season. So they will be looking to end that road losing streak on Thursday.
One thing working against them is where they are playing. The Broncos have had some real struggles playing in Indianapolis. The Broncos haven’t won in Indianapolis since 2003 and are 0-6 in Indianapolis since then. Obviously having Peyton Manning and now Andrew Luck there for nearly two decades is a big reason why but it’s something to watch.
Another thing to watch is Trevor Siemian’s play on the road. He’s 0-4 on the road and his play in those games was not all that great either.
Trevor Siemian road stats
Week | Opponet | Comp | Att | Yards | TD | INT | Comp % | QB Rating |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Week | Opponet | Comp | Att | Yards | TD | INT | Comp % | QB Rating |
3 | Buffalo Bills | 24 | 40 | 259 | 0 | 2 | 60% | 58.2 |
7 | Los Angeles Chargers | 25 | 35 | 207 | 0 | 1 | 71.40% | 74.3 |
8 | Kansas City Chiefs | 19 | 36 | 198 | 1 | 3 | 52.80% | 43.5 |
13 | Miami Dolphins | 19 | 41 | 200 | 0 | 3 | 46.30% | 30.5 |
So in four road starts this season, Trevor Siemian has thrown just 1 touchdown with 9 interceptions and 1 lost fumble mixed in. That is downright awful play for any NFL quarterback.
Add Siemian’s play on the road in with the Broncos road losing streak and their history in Indianapolis and you have the makings of a rough go of it on Thursday Night.
Now with all that said, the Broncos are the much better and talented football team and should win Thursday.
So what will happen? Will the Broncos carry their momentum from Sunday’s game into Thursday night or will their road woes continue?
