Should the Broncos make a push for Kirk Cousins?

Kirk Cousins is the hot topic in Denver, and The Afternoon Drive had a chat with his old coach, Mike Shanahan

Eric Goodman and Les Shapiro had Mike Shanahan on the show to talk about Kirk Cousins. Shanahan’s time in Washington was far from perfect, but he certainly has a unique perspective on the type of player Cousins is.

It was apparent when Shanahan was with the Redskins he was enamored with Cousins abilities. Even with the hyped up Robert Griffin III on the team, Shanahan seemed to be looking to move to Cousins before his time there was up.

High praise indeed from a guy that many consider one of the great offensive coaches in his time. Even if some in Denver are doubting Cousins, including some Broncos players, Shanahan sees him as a potential franchise quarterback. The big issue will be figuring out numbers should the Broncos decide to make a push for Cousins.

The upcoming matchup against the Redskins will give the Broncos a chance to see him play up close. If John Elway wants to see what Cousins can do against an elite defense, this is the perfect opportunity. Many in Broncos Country already have him wearing orange and blue.

Mike Shanahan seems to really like Kirk Cousins. The big question is just how much does John Elway like him? It looks like everyone will find out soon.
