The pegs are in motion and this wheel is coming around to the part that all fans hate — the part where they get ran over.
Super Bowl 50 might as well be a nuclear wasteland, management trotted out Trevor Siemian to not one, but two seasons of detriment. John Elway seems to have every intention on allowing Vance Joseph another season and finally, after 16 weeks of NFL football last season’s first round draft pick has finally been announced as a starter.
That’s right, Paxton Lynch will play 18 total quarters in his first two seasons. That’s nearly five games of evaluation! The last time that we saw Lynch he had five incomplete passes and 10.5 average yards-per-carry.
Emmanuel Sanders missed practice today after being unable to play last week. If he is unable to go this weekend against the Kansas City Chiefs, it would appear to be the Demaryius Thomas show in Week 17. A Week 17 game that can only hurt Denver’s draft position if they win.
Thomas has 892 receiving yards on the season, his least since 2011. Lynch likely feels compelled to get Thomas 108 receiving yards.
Also, Ian will be responding to this tweet thread:
Vance Joseph was never qualified to be a head coach, he has proven that. What is the point in turning one season's mistake into two? Did Elway have to agree that he'd give Joseph two seasons before Joe Ellis would say yes to hiring him?
