What positions will John Elway and the Broncos target in free agency?

Friday’s The Afternoon Drive gave some insight on what the team may do come March 9 when free agency starts.

With the NFL season over, the second season has begun.

That is, of course, the rumors and speculation over what John Elway and the Denver Broncos will do in free agency. When they have over $33 million in cap space, according to overthecap.com, you see why. Add Elway’s history of doing whatever it takes to make his team better in free agency and you have ever-growing excitement over the 2017 season.

Friday’s The Afternoon Drive dived into the positions the Broncos may target. Les Shapiro mentioned offensive and defensive line as the primary focus for Elway and the team. I’ll take it one step further and list players they may have interest in - right tackle Rick Wagner, guard Kevin Zeitler, defensive end Calais Campbell, defensive tackle Dontari Poe and defensive tackle Brandon Williams.

With Elway at the helm, this time of year adds it’s own excitement. We all like to play general manager, see the direction we would take the team and if it lines up with what the team eventually does. Come March 9 when free agency starts, we will find out.

In the mean time, let the rumors and speculation persist.
