According to 9NEWS Denver's Mike Klis, free agent defensive lineman Earl Mitchell has finished up his visit with the San Fransisco 49ers and is on his way to Denver tonight to meet with General Manager John Elway and Head Coach Vance Joseph.

As we know, Mitchell was cut from the Miami Dolphins last week and instantly had interest around the league. There were reportedly 8 teams to contact Mitchell, but he cut his final list down to four teams. The Seattle Seahawks, San Fransisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons, and our Denver Broncos.
One reason the Broncos made the list is because of Mitchell's relationship with Vance Joseph. He was Mitchell's defensive coordinator while at Miami last season and Joseph had high praise for Mitchell's game. DenverBroncos.com's Andrew Mason shared a Vance Joseph quote from this past December where Joseph said Mitchell was "probably the guy on our defense that plays the hardest all the time". Those high motor guys along the trenches are always popular among the coaches and his teammates.

Another reason is Broncos defensive line coach Bill Kollar. Mitchell was drafted by Gary Kubiak and the Houston Texans in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft. So Kollar knows and has already worked with Mitchell for a few years.
So the connection is there and the Broncos are in need for depth along their defensive line, so we could see this move quickly if the Broncos want Mitchell on their team. More often than not, when you visit the Broncos and John Elway, you don't leave without a contract, and if you do, you're not signing with the team.
So it seems like we could see a new member of the Denver Broncos tonight. Stay tuned Broncos Country!
