Bronco fans should hope for the Raiders to add Marshawn Lynch or Adrian Peterson

The Denver Broncos should not fear the Oakland Raiders signing either Marshawn Lynch or Adrian Peterson.

The topic of running backs for the Oakland Raiders came up on Monday’s The Afternoon Drive with Eric Goodman and Les Shapiro and they wanted to know who should the Denver Broncos be more afraid of joining Oakland. Marshawn Lynch or Adrian Peterson.

I say the answer is neither. In fact, I hope they sign one of those two backs. Lynch was not very good in his final season, averaging a full yard per carry less than the previous season at just 3.8 yards per carry. He is now heading to 31 years old and most of us are well aware of the age wall running backs experience.

Peterson is coming off another injury, missing nearly a full season for the second time in three years. He will be 32 years old and has issues running out of the shotgun formation. The caveat with Peterson is that he has topped 1200 yards in any season he has played in 14 or more games, which is Hall of Fame kind of ability.

Still, the age wall for running backs is the age wall for running backs. As a Broncos fan, I’d almost hope for one of these signings to happen.
