While we all wait on what may happen with Tony Romo, some potential good news broke on the DeMarcus Ware front.
According to NFL Network’s Jane Slater, John Elway and Vance Joseph met with the outside pass rusher on Tuesday. As she said in her tweet, the Denver Broncos have expressed interest in bringing Ware back, subject to negotiations. That news was confirmed by beat writer Troy Renck.
The positive sign is both sides are in discussions. That gives an indication that both want this to happen. Whether it can get done prior to 2 p.m. Thursday remains to be seen. Though Mike Klis dumped cold water on everyone when he tweeted that they met but “appears” Ware will test the free agent market.

Aside from quarterback and offensive line, the most intrigue may belong to Ware. Yes, he is 35 and struggled with injuries last season (back and arm), but his leadership in the locker room is invaluable; especially with a rookie head coach and new defensive coordinator. That continuity could be big for Denver.
But it’s not just his leadership. Ware has shown he can still make plays and be a game changer on the Broncos defense. The question becomes his health and whether he can stay on the field. What helps with that is the depth Denver has at pass rusher.
Will Ware return to the Broncos or hit the market?
