Horse Tracks: What to know about the 2017 NFL schedule release

The schedule will be released Thursday evening at 6pm MT.

The NFL announced it will be airing the schedule release in Prime Time again this year. Thursday, April 19th at 6:00 p.m. MT is the date and time. Not to worry, most sites will have the schedule for the team they are covering within minutes of that time anyway - including this site.

We already know the New England Patriots will likely open up the season on Thursday Night Football against the the Kansas City Chiefs. Disgustingly, I’ll have to root for the Patriots in this one. The Denver Broncos took the AFC West for granted last season and it hurt badly.

There will also be a slew of International games for us to grapple with, especially if you are heavily into fantasy football.

The slate of international games is set, and one of them is at 9:30 a.m. ET

The league announced the details for international games way back in December, so none of these will be a surprise when the schedule is officially released.

There will be four games played in London, with two in Wembley Stadium and two at Twickenham Stadium. At Wembley, the Ravens will face off against the Jaguars in Week 3 or Week 4, and the Saints will meet the Dolphins in Week 4. The Vikings and Browns will play each other in Week 7 or 8 at Twickenham, and the Cardinals and Rams will match up in Twickenham in Week 7 or 8.

At least one of those games will be played at 9:30 a.m. ET, despite the fact that a lot of people hate that timing.

It has also been confirmed that the Raiders will return to Mexico City this season, and they’ll host the Patriots. We just don’t know when, but we’ll find out Thursday.

We really haven’t heard much of anything firm around the Broncos schedule, so I guess we’ll just have to wait for tonight. We only have their home and away opponents for now.

Home: Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Cincinnati Bengals

Away: Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Indianapolis Colts
