The Denver Broncos selected Michigan tight end Jake Butt with the 145th pick in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
Butt is clearly the kind of offensive weapon in the passing game that the Broncos have been lacking since the departure of Julius Thomas in free agency in 2014. Though his run blocking is raw, Mike McCoy will likely find ways to compensate for that weakness.
With Carlos Henderson in the slot and Jake Butt at tight end, Denver will have some massive weapons added with Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders outside. Trevor Siemian or Paxton Lynch is going to have fun in this new offense.
The 2017 NFL Draft for the Broncos is shaping up rather nicely. What do you think of this player?
