Trevor Siemian will win the Broncos starting job

Forget Paxton Lynch, he will not be the Denver Broncos starting quarterback in 2017.

Tony Romo was the Denver Broncos last great hope of challenging Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in 2017. Instead, he retired and Mike Klis quickly noted that Trevor Siemianwas safe’.

Safe from what? John Elway said repeatedly he was very happy with both young quarterbacks, not just Paxton Lynch. So why now, is Siemian suddenly safe? Is it because Elway wants to see his first round draft pick play in 2017?

I’ve got news for you, Mr. Elway. Siemian’s going to win the job.

I’m personally not a fan of Siemian. I think he’s just a guy on the field who will never put a team on his back or come up big in critical games. In practice, however, he is truly an Arm of the Gods. And if all things are actually fair in Denver, it will be Siemian starting Week 1 of the 2017 season. Not Lynch.

It certainly looks like the chips are falling in place for Siemian to have another offseason like he did in 2016.

The really good news about Romo coming off the board is that Elway can finally address their left tackle problem in free agency, rather than reaching for one in the draft. Now they can get a more raw talent in the draft and develop him instead.

With that left tackle, Siemian will have an offensive line that isn’t mostly garbage. Though I felt he had a tendency to take the safe, easy throw more often than not, perhaps with more faith in the line he’ll start attacking the middle of the field and at the intermediate levels of the field. We’ll just have to wait and see on that front.

Now that we know who will actually be competing for the quarterback job. Who do you think will win it? Don’t be wishy washy and say “may the best man win”. Have an opinion or at least an educated guess!
