The Denver Broncos seemingly had a lackluster free agency period, but what John Elway did was focus on the weakest portions of the offensive and defensive lines. Eric Goodman and Les Shapiro of The Afternoon Drive discussed whether or not they remain a contender in 2017.
Neither felt they were good enough to win a Super Bowl, especially with Tony Romo opting to retire over continuing to play football. I agree with the first part, but not so much with the second.
My biggest worry is that John Elway has hamstrung himself to needed to draft a left tackle in the first round, removing any chance for the Broncos to land any dynamic offensive threats. Whether it be Christian McCaffrey or O.J. Howard or some other talent.
With two young quarterbacks, the Broncos would be better served by having explosive offensive weapons around them over a first round offensive tackle who may or may not be very good.

Eric and Les discussed what’s next for Denver at quarterback with Romo taken off the board. All we really need to do is listen to Vance Joseph who said last week they would be looking at a veteran young guy to add or possibly even draft one. In short, Denver is looking for a third string quarterback.
