On Friday, the NFL announced they will be releasing the 2017 preseason schedule on Monday, April 10th at 3 p.m. MT.

Setting aside the fact that NFL Network will be covering the preseason schedule release live (seriously?), it will be the first taste fans will get of the upcoming 2017 season.

Jon Heath from Broncos Wire also noted that this preseason schedule will not be set in stone as some dates will be flexible until the final version of the regular season schedule is released. That is expected to happen sometime between April 17-21.

A look at the Broncos’ past preseason schedules, I think we can make some educated guesses as to what to expect on Monday.

Broncos Preseason History (2011-2016)

Year Game 1 Game 2 Game 3 Game 4 W/L
Year Game 1 Game 2 Game 3 Game 4 W/L
2011 DAL 24, DEN 23 DEN 24, BUF 10 DEN 23, SEA 20 ARI 26, DEN 7 2-2
2012 DEN 31, CHI 3 SEA 30, DEN 10 SF 29, DEN 24 DEN 16, ARI 13 2-2
2013 DEN 10, SF 6 SEA 40, DEN 10 DEN 27, RAMS 26 ARI 32, DEN 24 2-2
2014 DEN 21, SEA 16 DEN 34, SF 0 HOU 18, DEN 17 DEN 26, DAL 3 3-1
2015 DEN 22, SEA 20 DEN 14, HOU 10 DEN 19, SF 12 ARI 22, DEN 20 3-1
2016 DEN 22, CHI 0 SF 31, DEN 24 DEN 17, RAMS 9 ARI 38, DEN 17 2-2

You can pretty much assume Denver will play the Arizona Cardinals in the final preseason game and there is a very strong possibility they will get the San Francisco 49ers in the second or third game.

These preseason games will be more important than in years’ past as Denver will be preparing their young quarterbacks for the upcoming season.
