I’ve asked the MHR staff, other Broncos bloggers, my parents, and my friends how they felt about the Denver Broncos draft. Most of them has responded with reserved, yet blind optimism. Okay, Chris Hart may have been a little furious over the Bolles pick, but for the most part, everyone is hoping for the best.
Personally, I feel the same way. We had needs and there were attempts to address them. Sure, the Broncos still need a little help at running back (especially with the departure of Kapri Bibbs via trade to the 49ers), but I’m sure Mr. Elway will make something happen before the start of training camp.
Simply put, you can’t get too worked up over these guys before it’s even May. They have yet to put a Broncos jersey on and likely have no idea where the bathrooms are in the facility.
Draft grades are fun to read, but they’re all garbage once the cleats start carving up the field. Of the eight players drafted, how many need to be starters or on the team in three years to consider the 2017 draft a ‘win?’ Half? No need to start chewing up our fingernails with worry now.
