Besides quarterbacks, what other position battle is going to be vital to Denver Broncos success in 2017?

Running back sure looks a hell of a lot more interesting since Jamaal Charles was signed.

NFL: Indianapolis Colts at Denver Broncos Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

When the Denver Broncos signed former Kansas City Chiefs franchise running back, Jamaal Charles, you got the sense this was a bit of a shot off the bow to current starting running back C.J. Anderson.

In April, Anderson was asked to lose five pounds by the Broncos when he showed up to their offseason program. He was rehabbing at the time, but the Charles signing appears to have lit a fire under him. It looks like he actually might show up to training camp in the best shape of his life.

This week, he biked his way 20 miles to a youth football practice. And he is looking quite trim, I might add. He’s always going to be a stocky man, but his pin ball mentality is what makes him such an elusive runner.

Add in last years’ fourth round pick Devontae Booker and this years’ sixth round pick De’Angelo Henderson and you have quite the interesting position battle.

What is your favorite position battle outside of the quarterbacks?
