Kicker Brandon McManus wants a long-term deal from the Broncos

McManus has yet to sign his tender and hopes to get a long-term deal from the Broncos.

The Broncos placed a second-round tender on kicker Brandon McManus this winter but he has yet to sign that tender and has until the June 15th deadline to sign said tender. However, McManus is holding out hope that he and the Broncos can agree on a long-term deal to keep the strong-legged kicker in Denver.

McManus said that he loves the team, the city, and the fan base and that he would like to be here for another "four years" if he can.

"There’s really no rush for me to sign the tender because it could go through June 15," McManus said. "I’d love to be here as long as I can and be on a long-term deal here that gives me security. I love Denver. I love the fan base here. I would love to be here four more years so why not see what I can do?"

The two sides have reportedly been talking about a long-term deal and Denver Broncos General Manager John Elway stated after the draft that he has a deal ready for McManus, all he has to do is come up to his office and sign in.

"It’s up there if he wants to come sign it," - Denver Broncos General Manager John Elway on the teams contract negotiations with kicker Brandon McManus.

McManus has been the Broncos kicker for the past three seasons and is coming off two seasons that saw him make a little over 85% of his kicks. He also played an important role for the Broncos during their 2015 playoff run/Super Bowl run. McManus has a career 82.9% field goal percentage for the Broncos and has a career long 57-yard field goal as well. He also has made 98.2% of his PAT kicks during his career as well.

After a rough start with the Broncos in 2014, he has become a much more consistent kicker for the Broncos and has come up clutch more than once for them as well.

I feel like this is something that probably happens before the June 15th deadline. McManus has become a solid kicker for the Broncos and the Broncos have been rewarding solid play recently.

What do you think Mile High Report? Should the Broncos give kicker Brandon McManus a long-term deal?
