Eric Goodman and Les Shapiro from The Afternoon Drive talked about the John Elway contract situation with the Denver Broncos on Monday. Shapiro, especially, had some really good comments about this in general.
Basically, we should all be patient with this process, because all parties want the same thing. That thing is Elway remaining with the Broncos for many years to come.
Personally, I would love to see Elway get a stake in the ownership of the Broncos. There is no other athlete who has led a franchise to so many championship games as both a player and a general manager. The Broncos have been to seven Super Bowls with Elway either on the field playing or in the front office building rosters. That is amazing.
There is only one person out there who I would trust to carry on Pat Bowlen’s legacy and that is John Elway.
