Good morning, Broncos Country!
Denver Broncos fans will hear a familiar voice this preseason.
According Mike Klis with 9News, former quarterback Brian Griese will serve as the TV color analyst for the first three games. Griese also served as the color analyst for Dave Logan on Broncos radio in 2011-12 before becoming one of ESPN’s top college football analysts and color commentators. As Klis points out, Griese will still serve in that role. He was a quarterback in Denver from 1999-2002.
Griese will team with Denver TV icon Ron Zappolo for the games that will air on KTVD Channel 20, a sister station of 9News. The color analyst for the fourth preseason game has not been decided.
Griese replaces John Lynch, who is now the general manager for the San Francisco 49ers.
That ties in with the change in the radio booth. For those who don’t know, Rick Lewis was chosen as the replacement for Ed McCaffrey. Lewis filled in for McCaffrey last season for the Jacksonville Jaguars game. Lewis also has a local afternoon radio show with Logan.
