You thought Decision 2017 was all about the quarterbacks. That was simply the opening act for the headliner. And fans thought they were done with the madness.
When it comes to the Denver Broncos Decision 2017, it’s all about the left guard and who Vance Joseph, Mike McCoy and Jeff Davidson choose as the starter. The final starting spot on the offensive line comes down to Allen Barbre and Max Garcia.
#TeamBarbre vs #TeamGarcia ... who you got?
On the most recent Mile High Report Radio Podcast, both Adam Malnati and me agree it should and will be Barbe. Since the Broncos traded a conditional 2019 seventh-round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles, Barbre has steadily risen on the depth chart and received reps with the starters. He’s been consistent in practice and the two preseason games. One of the best plays of the preseason by a Denver offensive lineman came from Barbre when he pulled and laid a great block on a San Francisco 49ers defender.
Garcia has been Garcia. If the Broncos wanted him to take that next step, it hasn’t happened and is not likely to anytime soon.
As Denver readies for the regular season dress rehearsal on Saturday against the Green Bay Packers, both Barbre and Garcia have continued to split reps in practice. Both will get time with the starters on Saturday, with the starter likely being named at some point after the game.
As it stands now, it should and will be Barbre. When the starter is named, it’ll put to rest the last of Decision 2017.
Who will become the Broncos starter at left guard?

They may move Ronald Leary there and put Connor McGovern at right guard
