On Friday, Denver Broncos General Manager John Elway announced they claimed defensive lineman Jimmy Bean off waivers from the Oakland Raiders. They released cornerback Dontrell Nelson to make room for the move.
Bean spent all of 2016 on the Raiders practice squad and figures to compete in the final two preseason games to help bolster an already beleaguered Broncos defensive front.
As a standout from Oklahoma State, Bean totaled 12.5 sacks, 27.5 tackles for a loss, and three forced fumbles.
