Once again, Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph was asked if Trevor Siemian has the lead in the quarterback competition over Paxton Lynch. And this time, Joseph answered the question for the rest of the week and into next week.
When asked if Trevor Siemian has a slight lead, Vance Joseph responded:

"No. No. No.
No, no, no, no, no, guys.
No, no, no.
No. No. No."
The quarterback competition will last at least through the first two preseason games, as Joseph also announced the starters for both games will be one for Siemian and one for Lynch. As far as the coaches are concerned, the evaluation is proceeding into the next and final phase - live game action.
Perhaps Joseph should just start each press conference with a “No, we have no determined a leader in the quarterback competition at this time. Next question!” That might work.
As bad as the Denver local media wants the Broncos to name Siemian the starter, they continue to give Lynch every chance to overcome the gap and claim the starting job for himself. Joseph’s latest comments were his most forceful on the topic yet. However, so far, Lynch hasn’t really done what is needed for him to get the job and now his time is running out.
