On Tuesday morning, 104.3 The Fan’s Sandy Clough reported that the Denver Broncos are one of eight teams trying hard to trade for Cincinnati Bengals quarterback AJ McCarron.
BREAKING: Sandy Clough is reporting that the #Broncos are aggressively pursuing a trade for #Bengals backup QB AJ McCarron. #Decision17

Frankly, the only way this makes any sense is if the Broncos have zero faith in whoever wins this quarterback competition. It would mean they are growing desperate to salvage the season, knowing either quarterback is likely to lose them games.
That is a possibility for sure, given how close the quarterback competition is with neither Trevor Siemian nor Paxton Lynch running away with this.
That said, the Broncos have strongly denied this report - as they should, even if it were true - so we’ll just have to wait and see how this one plays out.
I have been told Broncos are NOT trying to trade for AJ McCarron. #9sports

Personally, I am leaning towards Mike Klis of 9News and his report. Especially given how annoyed John Elway himself was when he vociferously denied the report on Twitter.
Rumor of us being interested in anyone other than the QBs we have is another example of irresponsible, fake news!!
