Sambrailo was a second-round pick for the Broncos in 2015 and was initially hyped having come out of Colorado State, but he was never able to be completely healthy. Last season, he gave up a sack every 32 snaps - which is an astonishingly high rate.
With the addition of Garett Bolles in the draft and Menelik Watson in free agency, this was a make or break offseason for Sambrailo. And despite adding 15 pounds of muscle and losing 5% of his body fat this year, Sambrailo still didn’t have the upper-body strength to be an effective lineman. The fact that the Broncos got anything for him is a major win for John Elway.
