The Dallas Cowboys (1-0) are riding high on the public hype after last season and could be running head on into a buzzsaw this week as they take on the Denver Broncos (1-0). If there is one thing we all know about the Broncos defense is that they play a little harder against teams getting all of the national media’s love and attention.
They did it in 2015 all the way to a Super Bowl title and they did it often in 2016 despite a brutal schedule and a historically bad offense.

Kickoff is set for Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 2:25 p.m. Mile High time at Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado.

Odds
The Broncos opened 2-point underdogs to the Cowboys, which mostly just shows how heavily the public loves to bet on Dallas. The line should be more even, if not a field goal or so in Denver’s favor. I wouldn’t be surprised if the sharp money is betting on the home team this week.
Quotable
The Broncos signed Ahtyba Rubin off the street this week and is a player they were interested in signing before Week 1. With Jared Crick moving to injured reserve, this signing made sense.
“He’s been a 16-game starter for two years in Seattle,” Head Coach Vance Joseph said of Rubin’s tape. “They’re known for having a hell of a defense up front. You watch the guys’ tape, he’s a big man. He plays really hard. As far as the run game, he’s very stout. He has some inside pass rusher also. I’m happy to have that guy. A guy who has played so much football at a high level like that with a great defense. Coming here and playing with us shouldn’t be a shock for him because that’s what he’s played with for the last two years.”
Predictions
After watching both the Broncos and Cowboys last week, I believe we are going to see two playoff contenders slug it out in this game. If they were playing in Dallas, I’d probably give the Cowboys the edge here. However, the hometown crowd was electric last Monday and you have to believe they’ll be even more so this week with a team everyone loves to hate in the Cowboys.
Prediction: Broncos 24, Cowboys 20
