The Denver Broncos have had a lot of preseason injuries to the interior of their defensive line this year, so when the San Francisco 49ers released defensive lineman Quinton Dial this morning it seems logical for John Elway to give his agent a call.

Dial is a four-year veteran, so he is not subject to the waiver wire and is free to sign with any team he chooses as an unrestricted free agent.
As a starter for the last two seasons, Dial did a solid job in both pass rush and run stopping abilities. Pro Football Focus had him ranked 61st among all interior defensive linemen with a 73.3 overall grade. He was consistent, however, with a 70.0 pass rush grade and a 69.2 run defense grade.
He could be a good stopgap guy who could step right into the lineup Week 1.
