According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Denver Broncos placed linebacker Shane Ray on the injured reserve, but plan on activating him sometime mid-season.

It was believed that Ray would be back sometime by week one or two, but that appears to be out the window. What helps is that Shaquil Barrett has returned from his injury and is on track to be ready for week one.
