Good morning, Broncos Country.
In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, many professional athletes (and everyday people) across the country have come together to support the myriad of relief efforts dedicated to helping Houston and other areas of Texas rebuild after the devastating storm. One of the league’s superstar players who is doing what he can to help is Denver Broncos All-Pro outside linebacker Von Miller.

Miller recently pledged $100,000 to BTHO Harvey — a grassroots student organization at Texas A&M University, which is where Miller played his collegiate football. The organization has been very successful with their fundraising efforts and have also collected many valuable supplies to send to those in need. As an Aggie, it was an easy choice for Miller to make, and certainly a gracious gesture the organization and university will never forget.
In an interview with Texas A&M’s Sondra White, Miller stated why he wanted to donate and support BTHO Harvey.
“I’m giving $100,000 through BTHO Harvey to the American Red Cross as a challenge to other former students of Texas A&M University to donate what they can to help victims of this horrible tragedy get back on their feet, into their homes, and moving quickly toward some sort of normalcy.”
With the $100,000 pledge by Miller, BTHO Harvey was able to get some of the star power it needed to help raise awareness for their terrific cause. We all love seeing Miller terrorize opposing quarterbacks on Sunday’s, but it is even better to see him continue to show how dedicated he is to the communities he is linked to.
Thank you Von Miller, for doing what you can to help with the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. Broncos Country is proud of you and thankful for the example that you set on and off the field.
As always, thank you for reading and here is today’s offering of Horse Tracks.
