According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Denver Broncos will retain Head Coach Vance Joseph despite rumors of being fired on Sunday.
Vance and I had a great talk this morning about our plan to attack this offseason and get better as a team. We believe in Vance as our head coach. Together, we'll put in the work to improve in all areas and win in 2018.

Multiple reports on Sunday were saying that it was unlikely that Joseph would be back in 2018 but support from the players changed Elway’s mind. He was going to sleep on this decision and this morning decided to stick with Joseph for at least one more year.
Expect major changes to his coaching staff, the roster, and probably more changes to the Front Office around Elway, Russell, and Kubiak.
Big changes are coming Broncos Country
Elway was on the fence yesterday. The room helped save VJ’s job. A couple assistants will go. And so too will a couple “strong personalities” in that room.

It was a rough season for Vance Joseph. He started out 3-1 and was having the time of his life, but ended up going 2-10 the rest of the year. He was a first-time Head Coach in a bad situation with no quarterback and a team with expectations that were way too high for this team.
He endured an 8 game losing streak, firing of his offensive coordinator, a lack of discipline with players, most double-digit losses in the league, lack of quality in-game adjustments, a quarterback carousel that did not make much sense, poor coaching, poor staff choices, and went 5-11 with basically the same roster that went 9-7 the year prior.
The Broncos defense still ranked among the leagues best in multiple categories, but the team was still held back by the offense.
Yet, Joseph is back for a second season.
The Broncos are using the quarterback play as an excuse for Vance’s struggles, so I’d expect them to go hard after a veteran this offseason. Yes, with the 5th overall pick they can get a top quarterback in the draft, but will they give Vance the time needed to allow the rookie quarterback to grow? I have my doubts. I expect a big “win now” move by Elway to shift the tide of the fan base.
Kirk Cousins remains firmly atop their wish-list in my opinion. He is exactly what they need. I understand the price will be big, but its what this team needs right now.

There will be big changes coming to the coaching staff, the roster, the front office and this Broncos team will look a bit different in 2018. Hopefully, all these changes are for the good for the Broncos or we will be back in this position once again in 2019.
