With the increased speculation over Kirk Cousins possibly coming to Denver, there’s at least one key Bronco who really likes the possibility.
That’s right - Von “Teams would kill to have a quarterback like that” Miller.
On “The Dan Patrick Show” earlier today, Miller said he has not tried hide his feelings about Cousins.
“[John Elway] knows exactly how I feel about Kirk Cousins and what he’d mean to our team,” Miller said. “And what he would mean to a lot of other teams. He’s the hot quarterback on the market right now. …Yeah, we need Kirk. We need Kirk. I’d like to have Kirk. We have great quarterbacks now. Kirk could take us over the edge.”
The edge rusher showered praise on the Redskins QB when the Broncos suffered a 27-11 defeat at the hands of Cousins on Christmas Eve:
“Kirk’s a great quarterback, I said that earlier in the week,” Miller noted after the December loss. “A lot of teams would kill to have a quarterback like that. He just came out, played great, at first he was a little shaky, but back to the typical Kirk Cousins in the second half.”
Mile High Report reported earlier today that the Broncos are expected to make a “huge run” at Cousins this offseason and some even believe “It seems it’s more likely than not that Kirk plays for the Broncos next year.”
If the contract details were to be right, no doubt Cousins wouldn’t mind being on the same team as one of the best pass rushers in the league.
