Denver Broncos General Manager John Elway joined Orange and Blue 760’s Dave Logan to talk about the teams disappointing loss to the New York Jets. The Broncos Hall Of Fame General Manager said he was disappointed by the team and the coaching staff and thought they would do better against the Jets.
GM John Elway, to @OrangeBlue760: “I will tell you this: I was as disappointed as everybody out there is disappointed … I thought we’d go into New York and play a heck of a lot better than we did … very, very disappointing."

The Broncos were coming off a disappointing loss to their divisional rival Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football. They played well enough to keep the still undefeated Chiefs trailing into the 4th quarter but eventually Patrick Mahomes led a thrilling comeback. This performance made many feel that the Broncos would be able to handle the Jets and rookie quarterback Sam Darnold.
Well, we all know how that went.
Elway also went out of his way to voice his displeasure with the Broncos coaching staff. He told Logan that like players, coaches have their bad days as well.
GM John Elway, to @OrangeBlue760: “Coaches, like players, have bad weeks, too, and I don’t think it was the best scheme that we had set up last week.” Said NYJ “did some things motion-wise” and there were some busts as a result.

As we know, Elway came close to firing Vance Joseph last season but decided to keep him, There were multiple changes made to the Broncos coaching staff however, but the Broncos appear to be heading down the same road that they took in 2017. If this continues, the outlook is grim for Head Coach Vance Joseph and Defensive Coordinator Joe Woods who Elway called out in this interview.
Unless the Broncos pull an upset this weekend, they will be 2-4 heading into a short week before taking on the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday Night Football. That game will be on the road and we all know how the Broncos struggle there.
If the Broncos lose these next two games, Vance Joseph’s seat will be hot or literally on fire.
