For all the hoopla that is being said about “Our defense sucks” (true) and “How does Joe Woods have a job?” (again, true), I’m here to say that holding the Rams to their first sub 30 point game all year is good enough to win! It is our inept offense, with Case Keenum as their ringleader is the biggest issue plaguing this team. So correct it, and correct it before the season is lost.
Vance Joseph waited far too long last year to bench Siemian (even though briefly), so why in the world is he making the same mistake? Keenum got you in this “do or die” mess, what makes you think he can get you out? The poison got you sick, and you’re telling us the solution is to feed us more poison? Put Kelly in while the season has a chance to be saved, because this 2-4 record? It isn’t going to get any better with Keenum under center. Trotting him out is throwing in the towel. Putting Kelly in at a minimum is “Kicking and Screaming” to try to get a victory. And if he sucks? Then he sucks and we have an amazing draft pick. But without knowing if he can play, we’ll take our high draft pick with Keenum and potentially waste it on a QB we don’t even need!
Last Week: 9-6
Overall: 50-41-2
Denver Broncos (2-4) at Arizona Cardinals (1-5) 6:20pm FOX/NFLN TNF
Under Vance Joseph, the Broncos are 1-9 on the road. With Keenum under center and Joseph on the sideline, the Broncos have officially been eliminated from playoff contention. 1-9? Unless Kelly plays at least half a game, it’s going to be 1-10. Prediction: Broncos 20, Cardinals 13
Tennessee Titans (3-3) at Los Angeles Chargers (4-2) 7:30am CBS London
Chargers are for real. Yes, the Titans are flying high after their shutout, which is why I think they crash so hard in London. Prediction: Titans 20, Chargers 31
Cleveland Browns (2-3-1) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-3) 11:00am FOX
This depends on Baker’s health. If he’s hobbled, they won’t win. If he’s 100%, they will win. This is more a prediction on his health and not the Browns vs Bucs. Prediction: Browns 20, Bucs 17
New England Patriots (4-2) at Chicago Bears (3-2) 11:00am CBS
The Patriots are rounding into form and have officially taken their rightful perch on the top of the AFC East. I don’t see the Bears standing in their way. Prediction: Patriots 26, Bears 20
Buffalo Bills (2-4) at Indianapolis Colts (1-5) 11:00am CBS
The best part about this game is that somehow the NFL doesn’t have it in primetime. Who to pick? The Turd or the Cow Patty? Prediction: Bills 17, Colts 20
Houston Texans (3-3) at Jacksonville Jaguars (3-3) 11:00am CBS
Both teams are heading in opposite directions. Houston is on a three game winning streak and the Jags just got shutout. I think they have red in their eyes. Prediction: Texans 17, Jaguars 23
Carolina Panthers (3-2) at Philadelphia Eagles (3-3) 11:00am FOX
Which version of both of these teams shows up? The ones that look like they are legit contenders? Or the ones where they look like they belong in the bottom 3rd of the power rankings? Prediction: Panthers 20, Eagles 27
Detroit Lions (2-3) at Miami Dolphins (4-2) 11:00am FOX
Time to see if Brock can string two straight solid games together in a row... i.e. something he just never really does (please don’t stats me to death on this. Or do, whatever). Prediction: Lions 23, Dolphins 24
Minnesota Vikings (3-2-1) at New York Jets (3-3) 11:00am FOX
We’ll see what both of these teams are made of in this game. Prediction: Vikings 27, Jets 20
New Orleans Saints (4-1) at Baltimore Ravens (4-2) 2:05pm FOX
I’ll be in New Orleans for this one, fresh off Krew of Boo Saturday night (Think Halloween Mardi Gras). Because of this, I gotta go with the Saints in a shootout. Prediction: Saints 43, Ravens 30
Dallas Cowboys (3-3) at Washington Redskins (3-2) 2:25pm CBS
Divisional games are always tough to predict. Especially with both teams coming off of impressive victories. But I think the emotional “fight for the coach” high will be worn off by now and the Cowboys get back to their losing ways. Prediction: Cowboys 23, Redskins 27
Los Angeles Rams (6-0) at San Francisco 49ers (1-5) 2:25pm CBS
And the wins keep piling up for the Rams. Do they even need to play this game? Prediction: Rams 43, Niners 6
Cincinnati Bengals (4-2) at Kansas City Chiefs (5-1) 6:20pm NBC SNF
Yes, the Chiefs finally tasted defeat, but they’re still the second best team in the NFL. This one at home in KC won’t be as close as their records would have you believe. Prediction: Bengals 27, Chiefs 45
New York Giants (1-5) at Atlanta Falcons (2-4) 6:15pm ESPN MNF
Freeman to IR hurts pretty badly. I want to pick Atlanta, but I think this is the point in the movie when the audience reminds me that the Falcons are terrible and even though the Giants are, they have a more talented roster. Prediction: Giants 20, Falcons 17
