NFL Picks Week 8: #Broncos are a team in a full on tailspin

The media circus surrounding this team screams one thing: They aren’t preparing for the Chiefs, they’d rather have fun.

Before anyone says a word, guess what? Your job as an NFL player is to bust your butt from late July until January if you’re lucky enough to be in the playoffs. Period! It isn’t to have fun. It isn’t to throw parties. It isn’t to take vacations on your bye week. It isn’t to call in sick when you’re having a bad day. It’s to be singularly focused on you multi-million dollar job! If you can’t handle that, find a new career! Period!

Sure, a Halloween party is nice and fun. I get it. But that’s not your job! I also understand that they had the next day off. So what? Spend that time studying the damn Chiefs. That’s what you get paid to do!

In other news, there are games to be played outside the fragile eco-system in Denver. Lets take a look at them, shall we?

Last Week: 9-4
Overall: 59-45-2

Miami Dolphins (4-3) at Houston Texans (4-3) 6:20pm FOX/NFLN TNF
How will Brock do in his return to Houston? He says no hard feelings, but everyone knows that there are always hard feelings when you get dumped. But will that matter? Prediction: Dolphins 24, Texans 27

Philadelphia Eagles (3-4) at Jacksonville Jaguars (3-4) 7:30am NFLN London
I’m not sure how to really handicap this game. The Eagles are a shell of their former self, and the Jags can’t seem to be competitive anymore. Will the Eagles bumble this away or will the Jags continue getting embarrassed? Decisions, Decisions. Prediction: Eagles 31, Jags 17

Denver Broncos (3-5) at Kansas City Chiefs (7-1) 11:00am CBS
I had hoped this would be Chad Kelly vs Patrick Mahomes to usher in a new era in the AFC West. Apparently one mistake is all it takes to ruin that. Good thing Elway has never been drunk or did anything stupid when he was playing (like cops letting him off instead of busting him for DUI’s, which for the morality police means he put women and children’s lives in danger). Anyways, this team (Broncos) are a dumpster fire and the Chiefs are a Ram’s hiccup away from being #1. This is a pretty damn easy pick. Prediction: Broncos 9, Chiefs 51

Baltimore Ravens (4-3) at Carolina Panthers (4-2) 11:00am CBS
This is gonna be a good game. Both teams are really good. But will this be an offensive game or defensive game? That’s the biggest question. Prediction: Ravens 17, Panthers 23

New York Jets (3-4) at Chicago Bears (3-3) 11:00am CBS
This is a tale of two young QBs. The Bears gave the Patriots all they could handle, so I’m gonna assume they beat up on the Jets. Prediction: Jets 16, Bears 27

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-3) at Cincinnati Bengals (4-3) 11:00am FOX
The Bengals are decently healthy, and they’re at home. After a fast start to the season, it looks like the Bucs have flat-lined again. Prediction: Bucs 13, Benglas 24

Seattle Seahawks (3-3) at Detroit Lions (3-3) 11:00am FOX
Pretty sure home field advantage means nothing to the Lions. Their only impressive victory was against Patricia’s old team. They’ve looked anything but good outside of that. Prediction: Seahawks 30, Lions 23

Washington Redskins (4-2) at New York Giants (1-6) 11:00am FOX
The Giants are in a full on race to the bottom. Anything less than a defeat is just not good enough! Prediction: Redskins 24, Giants 13

Cleveland Browns (2-4-1) at Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2-1) 11:00am CBS
These two teams played to a tie already, but I don’t think that can possibly happen again. Even though I root for Baker Mayfield to do great, I don’t think it’ll be enough in the Steel City. Prediction: Browns 17, Steelers 27

Indianapolis Colts (2-5) at Oakland Raiders (1-5) 2:05pm CBS
There are three teams in that aforementioned “race to the bottom” , and one of those three is the Raiders. “Just Lose Baby!” is their unofficial slogan. Prediction: Colts 27, Raiders 10

San Francisco 49ers (1-6) at Arizona Cardinals (1-6) 2:25pm FOX
We wrap up our race to the bottom with this game. The 49ers will try to win, and the Cardinals will simply do what they do best: Lose. Prediction: 49ers 17, Cardinals 13

Green Bay Packers (3-2-1) at Los Angeles Rams (7-0) 2:25pm FOX
One of the better games of the week is right here. Can the Rams stay undefeated or will the Packers pull off an upset? If this is in Green Bay, it’s a likely “pick-em”, but this is in Los Angeles.. wait, LA doesn’t really care about non-Lakers teams. I like Gurley and Goff to straight go off in this game. Prediction: Packers 31, Rams 34

New Orleans Saints (5-1) at Minnesota Vikings (4-2-1) 6:20pm NBC SNF
Co-better games of the week up in Minnesota. Both teams are playing great. This will come down to defense, which is a bad omen for the Saints. Prediction: Saints 24, Vikings 27

New England Patriots (5-2) at Buffalo Bills (2-5) 6:15pm ESPN MNF
This game is laughable. Gronkowski or not, the Patriots win this game by 3 TD’s. Prediction: Patriots 45, Bills 6

Bye Week: Falcons, Chargers, Cowboys, Titans
