Broncos-Chiefs injury update: Shane Ray is doubtful to play

The Denver Broncos (3-4) will be without several key players as Royce Freeman, Darian Stewart, Jared Veldheer and DaeSean Hamilton, while edge rusher Shane Ray is listed as doubtful. All five of those players would have been important players to have on the field against the Kansas City Chiefs (6-1).

Will Parks will be taking over for Stewart, who is recovering from multiple neck stingers.

“Will’s played a lot of football here,” Head coach Vance Joseph said on Friday. “He’s got some experience. Will, his skillset for this game is really going to help us because he can really run and play the ball and he can cover tight ends. Obviously, he’s been our dime, so now on base downs, he’ll be one of the high safeties. I think his skillset fits this gameplan.”

The Chiefs, meanwhile, could be without both Justin Houston and Eric Berry who are listed as doubtful. This bodes well for the Broncos offense as they will need to put up plenty of points to keep pace with Patrick Mahomes.
