Matt Boyer joined 1st and 10 at 10 on Orange and Blue 760, and he brought a little positivity to Broncos Country. Bradley Chubb won defensive rookie of the month. It looks like he is on track to win really compete for defensive rookie of the year.
Sitting on 7.5 sacks, and finally clicking with Von Miller on the other side, he seems to have an inside track to the award. Derwin James of the Chargers, and Denzel Ward of the Browns have been good this year as well, but the thought on the show was 12 sacks could be the magic number for Chubb.
Von Miller on Bradley Chubb being on pace for the rookie sack record:

“Before the season started, we started talking about that stuff... One of his goals was to get the rookie sack record and win defensive rookie of the year.”
After 8 games, Chubb is more than half way to what looks like the magic number. Not only could he win Defensive Rookie of the Year, but with the the defense getting stronger, the foundation for a bright future is there.
