The Denver Broncos offensive line situation keeps getting worse as left guard Max Garcia has torn his ACL and is done for the season.
Terrible news: LG Max Garcia took every rep and finished practice yesterday. Came in, felt discomfort in knee. MRI revealed torn ACL, per source. Out for year. Billy Turner now the starting left guard. Goodness. O-line lost Paradis last game. #9sports— Mike Klis (@MikeKlis) November 16, 2018
The left guard position is becoming quite dire as Garcia had replaced Ronald Leary who went down with a torn Achilles in a game against the Los Angeles Rams earlier this season. Meanwhile, guard Connor McGovern is now the starting center as Matt Paradis too went down a few weeks ago with a season-ending fractured fibula.
That is some bad luck for a team already on the brink of their first back-to-back losing season since 1972.
It’s looking like the starting offensive line this week will be the following:
- LT - Garett Bolles
- LG - Billy Turner
- C - Connor McGovern
- RG - Elijah Wilkinson
- RT - Jared Veldheer
That leaves just Nico Falah, Sam Jones, and Gino Gradkowski as the only reserve linemen on the roster. Two of those were only recently signed to the team and we should expect additional bodies to be added once Garcia is officially moved to injured reserve.
