The task to keep up on a coaching search is almost as exhausting as the search itself.
Now that Vance Joseph has been fired, that process has started for John Elway and the Denver Broncos. On the latest MHR Radio Podcast, Adam Malnati and I were joined by Andrew Mason and Ryan Edwards to ponder the strategy for the next head coach, and who their favorite is.
We will keep Broncos Country up to date on the latest news, reports and rumors on who Elway and his staff is looking to hire. Check back often for all of the updates.
And then there were two?
It appears the search is down to two candidates — Vic Fangio and Mike Munchak (link).
Zac Taylor — Los Angeles Rams quarterbacks coach interview is Thursday (link). Taylor may not be the favorite to be the head coach, but perhaps offensive coordinator? (link). The team finished its interview with Taylor (link).
Brian Flores — New England Patriots defensive coordinator interview is Saturday (link). The team has finished its interview with Flores in Boston (link). After Flores’ interview, according to Mike Klis, the search committee is reviewing notes of the first four interviews (link).
Vic Fangio — Chicago Bears defensive coordinator interview is Monday (link). Las Vegas still has Fangio as the favorite to be the next head coach (link). Fangio set for his interview after playoff loss and it’s just the Broncos interviewing him (link). The final interview has been completed (link). Elway is staying in Chicago to have dinner with Fangio, the first candidate on the road to do so (link). Sure seems like all signs are pointing to Fangio (link).
