According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Denver Broncos have requested to interview Chicago Bears Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio for their Head Coaching vacancy.
Dolphins and Broncos now have requested HC interviews with Bears’ defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, per league source. They are not expected to be the only interested teams in Fangio. He can’t interview this week with Bears prepping for Eagles.

Fangio is a 60-year old Defensive Coordinator of the NFC North winning Chicago Bears who have one of the better defenses in the NFL right now.
The Bears defense ranks third in total yards(299.7 yards per game), seventh in passing yards per game (219.7 yards per game), first in rushing yards allowed per game(80 yards per game), 1st in scoring defense(17.7 points per game), and 1st in interceptions this year with 27.
His track record doesn’t end there. Fangio’s defenses in San Francisco during the Harbaugh era were among the leagues best during that run as well. So he has quite the track record on the defensive side of the ball and could find the Von/Chubb pairing enticing.
Now, Fangio has no prior Head Coaching experience in the NFL and will be a first-time NFL Head Coach if hired, so that is a concern. What took so long? Was her overlooked? Or is he another Wade Phillips? That’s what these interviews are for.
Fangio is also a strong defensive mind and probably can handle that side of the ball while still being the Head Coach. However, he will need a strong offensive mind to handle that side of the ball.
Confirming Broncos want to interview Bears DC Vic Fangio, although he's unavailable this week. Fangio could help keep Broncos 3-4 defense together but he would need strong OC. #9sports

Hello Gary Kubiak? This scenario certainly opens up that opportunity.
As Klis states above, Fangio isn’t available to interview this week as he is preparing for the Bears wildcard game this upcoming weekend. I personally believe the Bears have a deep playoff run coming, so it could be a little while until they can speak to Fangio. (Edit: He can interview win or lose after this weekend’s wildcard game per reports)
Of the three requests reported, Fangio might be my current favorite.
